I really enjoyed this slow, lovely essay. My parents moved us from a farm in Ohio to the sunny shores of Southern California when I was a young girl. I just landed in California out of nowhere it felt - so the bit about landing in New York as a young girl really resonated with me. I need to read your book now. :)
